During Wednesday’s meeting of the National Assembly Sub-Committee on Poverty Alleviation, the main point of discussion was the implementation of a new payment system for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to enhance its effectiveness. It was relayed to the panel that while banks are currently charging a 0.4% fee for these payments, they may potentially increase this fee to 1% during the trial phase, as long as they offer beneficiaries complete service options.
