The prime minister vowed to continue enhancing the current stability, acknowledging it as a stepping stone. He also commended the people for their resilience in overcoming economic challenges. Furthermore, he stated that the previous government’s policies had caused Pakistan to become isolated on the global stage and created tension with allied nations.

“The crux of the matter is that in the last nine months, we have successfully navigated significant obstacles and with the unwavering support of the federal and provincial governments, as well as our collaborative partners in driving progress, we have attained a state of macroeconomic stability,” stated Prime Minister Shehbaz as he commended the presentations delivered by said ministers.
The prime minister acknowledged the economic challenges faced by his administration upon assuming office and stated that the country was forced to implement a new program with the IMF.
Pakistan’s New Export Reforms: Boosting Trade and Economic Growth
To enhance the economy, the prime minister shared the required measures for promoting competitive, efficient, and export-driven growth. These include reducing input costs, encouraging investments, and removing import limitations.
“Pakistan’s greatest hope is export-led growth. You must generate cash, which can only be done through exports,” he stated, adding that the latest reform package also revolved around this idea.
According to him, Pakistan’s main focus for development is through exports, as it is the key to generating much needed cash. He further noted that the current reform package also centers on this concept.

He claimed that in order to achieve long-term prosperity, domestic solutions were necessary, which is why PM Shehbaz formed the Homegrown Reform Economic Committee in May. “The 13th five-year plan, which was created by the Ministry of Planning and duly approved by the National Economic Council, as well as the economic manifestos of various political parties, were among the national economic plans that were thoroughly examined by that committee.“
According to him, to attain sustained economic success, it was crucial to implement domestic measures. To address this issue, PM Shehbaz established the Homegrown Reform Economic Committee in May. The committee extensively reviewed several national economic plans, including the 13th five-year plan crafted by the Ministry of Planning and approved by the National Economic Council, as well as various political parties’ economic manifestos.
