In our society, older adults are a major part who have spent their whole lives working; now, when they reach 60 or older, it is the government’s responsibility to grant them an unconditional cash amount.

As such a scheme was introduced in Bangladesh, India, and other regional countries in the 1990s, establishing a cash transfer program for the elderly is crucial for the state to take responsibility for them.

Sila-E-Fun Program Registration 2024

Punjab Government introduced the Sila-E-fun Program, which is an unconditional cash transfer program. Through this program, the government of Punjab provides a monthly payment of Rs 5000 to elderly citizens of Punjab who earn less than $35,000.

Aspects to consider:

The Sila-E-Fun Program provides a dignified social pension to Punjab’s aged and needy artists, authors, poets, and media people who have made significant contributions in areas such as film, television, literature, poetry, journalism, theatre, music, and painting.

Sila-E-Fun Program Objectives

This initiative aims to improve the socioeconomic conditions of Punjab’s elderly and financially vulnerable artists.

The Sila-e-fun Program has a number of important purposes

Providing social assistance to Punjab’s poor, aged, and financially vulnerable artists in order to increase their social inclusion.
In order to improve the living conditions of the elderly and needy artists.
In order to reduce the economic dependence of the poor, elderly, and needy artists on their social networks.

Eligibility Criteria for Sila-E-Fun Program

The socioeconomic program is only open to those who meet the following eligibility requirements.

A Pakistani national identity card number should be available to them.
Punjab is his home district.
Participation is open to artists over the age of fifty.
In the relevant field, they must have at least 25 years of experience.
It is recommended that their monthly salary is less than Rs15,000 per month.
