Sindh Government Introduces New Grading System
In order to provide a more thorough assessment of pupils’ performance, the Sindh government has announced a new grading system that will substitute grades for the previous numbering scheme in 2025.
Students will receive grades according to their performance under the new system developed by the Inter-Board Coordination Committee (IBCC). “Exceptional” grades will be given for scores of 95% and above, while “Unsatisfactory” grades will be given for scores of 40% and below.

The new grading system issued by the Sindh Government is as follows;

Sindh was the first province to implement the new grading system, while Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are still using the old grading system.
The national committee of educational board chairmen resolved to use a 10-point system statewide in place of the current grading scheme at the intermediate [grade XII] and matric [grade X] levels in 2022.
Minimum Passing Marks Have Been Increased
Students who previously failed with scores below 33 now pass with scores above 40, according to the IBCC Department, whose minimal passing score for students has recently increased by seven points. IBCC Executive Director Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah revealed during a news conference that students would receive grace marks on exams as part of a broader educational reform effort.
