KP Sehat Card Scheme Expands: More Hospitals Now Included!

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expanded the Sehat Card Scheme panel by including additional public and private facilities that offer free medical care. To finalize the involvement of both public and private hospitals in the Sehat Card Scheme infrastructure, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur instructed the quarter to schedule a meeting.

The CM Gandpur conference also covered the outsourcing of hospitals in outlying districts. Since CM Gandapur instructed the finance department to pay the outstanding balances as quickly as possible, the financial obligations were also covered at the steered meeting.

The KP government plans to add more hospitals Under Sehat Card

On the directive of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the health department chaired the policy board meeting on Tuesday, November 11th, 2024, to finalize the inclusion of additional hospitals under the Sehat card scheme.

The Sehat Insaf initiative was started to offer in-patient department (IPD) services throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The program provides worthy KP residents free medical care and medications. 7.2 Families are receiving inpatient medical services using this program. Approximately RS18 billion is spent on the Sehat Plus Card program each year.

Only the hospital that guarantees the Sehat insaf card quality standards will be added, Gandapur stresses.

Additional Hospitals in Remote Areas Are Embedded

The meeting placed a strong emphasis on expanding access to healthcare in rural areas through the expansion of Sehat Card Plan clinics and the outsourcing of clinics in these areas. The goal is to provide underprivileged inhabitants with easily accessible, high-quality healthcare as well as a more comprehensive health sector and solutions for associated issues.

The finance department will settle debts owed to public hospitals that are outsourced:

The discussion’s primary subjects were also unpaid debts and the state of the public hospital that had been designated earlier. The past-due payments caused a delay in the services to the serve ones.

To ease this concern, Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur directed the finance department to pay off outstanding bills as quickly as feasible. All eligible hospitals were directed by Gandapur to start offering medical care under the Sehat Card Scheme right now.

By December, more hospitals will be outsourced under PPP

Chief Minister KP instructed Health Foundation officials to outsource additional hospitals under the Sehat Card Program during the provincial cabinet meeting. He also instructed the Health I Department to submit proposals for additional hospital outsourcing under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by December 2024.

Every hospital that has met the Sehat Card Program’s quality requirements will receive a proposal and be included to the list of hospitals that outsource.

Benefits Of Hospital Offshoring Through PPP:

The Public Private Partnership (PPP) model of hospital outsourcing has been used with excellent outcomes. To provide quality healthcare services to people who live far away, efforts are being made to further enhance this procedure.

In addition, CM Ganapur Sahib stated that the project’s goal is to improve healthcare’s effectiveness and accessibility, particularly in isolated locations that are far from roadways.

Externalization Made Simpler by Revising Current Laws

By modifying pertinent legal frameworks and forming a steering committee led by the chief minister, it was determined to streamline hospital outsourcing operations.

Additionally, Chief Minister Gandharpur stated that the purpose of this committee is to streamline and enhance the outsourcing procedure to better manage healthcare services for KP citizens. As a result, the hospital’s outsourcing project will be completed more rapidly, better, and technically.

Free Medicine To Children With Haemophilia

A decision was also made to enter into a partnership with Roche Pharmaceutical Company, through which free medicines will be provided to children affected by Haemophilia, Roche therapeutics, and the KP government will jointly determine the cost of these medicines, which will be shared between the both of them. 

The Chief Minister also said that efforts are being made to further improve the Basic Healthcare Centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

KP Govt Allocate Rs 4 Billion For Sehat Card Programme

An extension of Rs 4 billion for the KP Sehat Insaf Card Program was announced on November 16, 2024. The programme has been further extended by increasing the funding by Rs 4 billion, which will enable the addition of more hospitals and resources and improve the quality of healthcare services available to the public.

To provide healthcare services to people living in rural locations, the KP government has taken the initiative to add more hospitals to the Sehat card scheme through outsourcing. This will include both public and commercial institutions. Children with hemophilia will receive free medications from Roche Pharmaceuticals and the government’s Khyber Pakhtun Khwa. The financial department was also instructed to settle outstanding debts.

To help more eligible individuals throughout the KP, the government KP increased the program’s funding by 4 billion rupees.
