Punjab announces Rs64.6bn Kisan Dost Package and allocates Rs75 billion for Kisan Cards

Government allocates Rs 60.6 billion for Punjab Dost Package 2024
The Punjab administration led by Maryam Nawaz Sharif unveiled its first budget on Thursday, which included Rs842 billion in annual development plans (ADPs). More than 60 billion rupees have been allocated for the New Kisan Dost Package in this budget speech.

According to the provincial minister of finance, corruption in wheat procurement has been eliminated and obsolete agricultural techniques have been abandoned.
As part of the Punjab Fiscal Year 2024–2025 Budget, the Punjab Kisan Card has been allocated Rs75 billion, and agriculture has been allocated Rs64.60 billion. The food department has been allocated a total of Rs400 million under the Punjab Fiscal Year 2024–2025 Budget.

Kisan Card Will Financially Support 500,000 Farmers
During their most recent budget speech, the government allocated Rupees 75 billion for the Kisan Card, which will provide financial support to five lakh Pakistani farmers.
In Punjab province, up to 500,000 farmers may now register for Kisan Card. Under this program, they will receive sizable loans that are repaid within three months. The registration for kisan Card has been started since 1st June 2024.
Solarization of agriculture tubewells by the chief minister
The Solarization of Agriculture Tubewells plan, which would cost Rs9 billion and convert 7,000 tube wells to solar power, was launched by the Chief Minister. Through this ambitious project, the government demonstrates its commitment to sustainable agriculture practices and a reduction in conventional energy use. Solar energy will lower farmers’ operating costs and allow them to contribute to environmental conservation.

The Punjab Government’s Budget for the Tractor Scheme and Agricultural Malls for 2024-25
In the new Punjab Budget Scheme, not only agriculture but all the other sectors related to Kisan have been taken into consideration, so the Punjab Finance Minister made some more amazing and helpful announcements, such as setting aside Rs 30 billion to provide farmers with tractors on easy, interest-free installments under the Chief Minister Green Tractor Scheme. An additional Rs 1.25 billion will be spent on building model agricultural malls around Punjab.
