Good News for the residents of Sindh, the Government has announced a new large project to help the poor who are struggling with high electricity bills. More than 2,00,000 solar distributes by the Government in August to the local and eligible people of Sindh.

In August, Sindh Government distributes 200,000 solar panels

The government of Sindh distributes 200,000 solar panels in August in partnership with the World Bank. According to media sources, the proposal was offered by Sindh’s Provincial Energy Minister, Nasir Hussain Shah, who said, “We are trying to introduce a policy for cheaper electricity supply.”

Additionally, he said, “We are considering giving away 300 free units of electricity, although we will need help from the federal government to do so”.

Interest on solar panel loans will be subsidized by the Sindh Government

Sindh will cover the interest on bank loans taken out to purchase these solar panels, meaning that individuals only need to pay back the loan amount, while the government handles the extra borrowing costs.

Besides providing solar parks and e-bikes in Sindh, PPP also focuses on providing a program for solar parks.

He referred to the province’s commitment to affordable energy initiatives, and questioned the value of solar energy in light of taxes. “Since the cost of grid electricity has increased, people are switching to solar power,” he said.
