At a meeting held in Lahore on January 7, 2025, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, instructed the provincial government to initiate MRI services at district hospitals. Furthermore, she opted for the (PPP) Public-Private Partnership outsourcing approach.

The private sector will offer state-of-the-art equipment and experienced technicians in hospitals, while government hospitals will also have access to the same facilities and infrastructure.
