CM Punjab Increases E-Bikes Quota: 50,000 More Students To Receive Bikes

This is the latest update for all applicants of the Punjab E-Bikes Scheme, as the Government of Punjab has announced that the number of E-Bikes given to applicants who have applied since the first phase has been increased. The CM of Punjab has also assured that the government will start the distribution of Bikes for the second phase soon, thus those applicants who have already registered will receive their Bikes in very easy installments.

Due to high demand, Punjab CM expands e-bike quotas
It is a significant step toward supporting student mobility that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has proposed raising e-bike quotas in response to an increase in student interest. As part of the province’s larger effort to provide students with accessible transportation options, the program has been in high demand.
E-bikes with easy installments are purchased by 190,000 students
E-bikes can be purchased by students through a payment plan with easy installments, according to Bilal Akbar Khan, the provincial transport minister. In the first phase, 20,000 bikes, including 1,000 electric ones, will be distributed to 190,000 students.
Having reviewed the whole situation, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that, after observing the tremendous interest of students in receiving bikes from the government, she will grant E-Bikes to all remaining students who have applied, which amounts to almost 7200 more students. The amount of E-Bikes available was only 1000, so remaining students will receive their bikes soon in easy installments.

After 50,000 new applications, Punjab’s chief minister orders faster distribution of e-bikes
CM Nawaz has therefore directed that the distribution of these bikes be expedited as a result of the extra 50,000 applications from students hoping to receive an electric bike. In addition, he requested that daily progress reports be sent to the involved departments.
E-bikes will be subsidized by the government
Bilal Akbar Khan stated that even though e-bikes are more expensive, the Punjab government has promised to cover the extra cost.
