BISP Launches Biometric Verification For Transactions, Benefiting 96 Lakh Women

The BISP Program, Pakistan’s largest cash transfer scheme, supports impoverished families in meeting their basic needs and securing quality education for their children. Currently in its developmental stage, the program aims to improve payment methods for a more efficient and effective distribution of aid to those in need.

First, the recipient needs to receive a text on their mobile device through the code 8171.
After receiving the message, they were required to visit the nearest campsite in the area to collect their 10500 Kafalat funds.
At the Campsite, they will present the message and receive a token from the counter.
Then they will be directed to wait in the sitting area for their turn.
When POS Agents receive a call, they are required to go to their desk and perform biometric verification.
The team will require them to present their genuine Identity Card to receive their Cash.

According to Rubina Khalid, chairperson of Benazir, the recipients will be able to utilize a new financial system. Instead of relying on only one bank, they now have partnerships with six different banks.
