Balochistan Allocates Rs2 Billion For Benazir Scholarship Program In 2024-25 Budget

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nausherwani Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nausherwani announced multiple budget strategies for the next two years to increase economic growth and stabilize the province.
To promote education and enroll more children in free education in Balochistan, the government has allocated Rs 2 billion for the Benazir Scholarship Program.
Under the Benazir Scholarship Program, in the province, PhD candidates in science, technology, engineering, and accounting will receive stipends, and children of civilian martyrs will receive free education from 1st to 16th grades.

The budget for the educational sector will be increased by 25%
With a primary focus on the health and education of its citizens throughout the entire budget address, the province is dedicating a significant portion of its budget to free education for impoverished children.
Balochistan’s administration prioritizes health and education, and as part of the Benazir Scholarship Program, the provincial government will increase education funding by 25%.
Budget for Balochistan 2024-25
The education and health sectors are expected to receive larger allocations, with Rs 67 billion set aside for health projects and Rs 120 billion for education reforms. As part of the peace and security program, Rs 70 billion is expected to be allocated, which will help preserve stability and strengthen security in the region.
In the province, the National Finance Commission (NFC) award is expected to amount to 647 billion, a significant source of funding. Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) is also expected to provide Balochistan with Rs 60 billion for regional development projects.
