For the first time in Pakistan, a rescue air ambulance initiated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz successfully transported a patient.

Halima Bibi, a 40-year-old resident of Mianwali, became paralyzed after falling from a roof two days ago. Medical professionals recommended that she continue her treatment in Rawalpindi after receiving initial care at the District Headquarters Hospital in Mianwali. On the orders of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Halima Bibi was flown from Mianwali to Rawalpindi by air ambulance during the “golden hour.”

Punjab To Start Air Ambulance Soon

According to Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, air ambulance service has started after it has transferred its first patient. Thus, the Chief Minister has announced that this service will be operational in the province so that local people can receive immediate medical attention.

As per Maryam Nawaz’s guidance and Nawaz Sharif’s approval, air ambulances will be introduced in Punjab in March 2024 for the residents living in remote areas.

“Timely and quality healthcare is the right of every Punjabi citizen, and it will be guaranteed,” said Maryam Nawaz, who emphasized the importance of the initiative. As per the directives of Nawaz Sharif, CM Maryam Nawaz commented on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “Alhamdulillah, another promise made to the people of Punjab has been fulfilled.”

As well as announcing Pakistan’s first air ambulance operations, she stressed the importance of swift rescue and transfer of critically injured patients. As she appealed to the nation to pray for Halima Bibi’s recovery, Maryam Nawaz expressed her commitment to alleviating every citizen’s suffering.
