2.4M Beneficiaries Now Receiving Rs 10500 In Sindh | BISP Expands
Almost half of the population of Sindh is impoverished, according to Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, the president of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Sindh. In the latest update from the Government of Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro stressed the need to expand the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to include more families in need.

Through its Kafalat and Taleemi Wazaif programs, will not only cover more people in the Program but will also contribute to reducing poverty in the province.
In Sindh, the PPP calls for the BISP program to be Expand
He told the media on Monday, during the conference, that Nisar Ahmed Khuhro planned to increase the number of BISP beneficiaries in Sindh, since he believes that, as per a survey, 50% of Sindh’s population lives below the poverty line, which is a terrifying situation for the province since it may affect the country’s economy.
Therefore, the PPP’s president calls for expanding the Benazir registration in Sindh for eligible families so that more people can benefit from the program and receive financial support through the 8171 Ehsaas Program. This will facilitate more people enrolling in the program.
BISP Supports 2.4M Households
In a briefing given by BISP representatives on the province’s government-run initiative to reduce poverty, Khuhro, who is also a head of the Provincial Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), said.
The briefing was conducted in the PA committee room by Zulfiqar Sheikh, the provincial director general for the BISP, and other program officials. Khuhro was informed during the briefing that 2.4 million worthy families had been registered as BISP beneficiaries, out of the roughly 9.5 million homes in Sindh that have been assessed. Each beneficiary receives Rs10,500 every three months.
The importance of 10,500 quarterly payments for the survival of eligible people
According to the chairman of the PAC, financial aid every quarter is crucial to the financial stability of impoverished families, particularly when young people from these households are unable to work for the government due to court-issued stay orders or temporary bans on new hires due to upcoming elections.
To relieve congestion at the current facilities, he instructed the relevant officials to expand the number of BISP centers around the province. Households with incomes less than Rs. 29,000 can apply to become BISP beneficiaries.
STEVTA and BISP Join Forces to Provide Vocational Training
Nisa Ahmed Khuhro also pointed out a new agreement between the BISP and the Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority, which will provide vocational training to 6,000 male and female students, with support from the Asian Development Bank, and 36% of BISP recipients who are women.
Nashonuma Program Supports 750,000 Beneficiaries
The Benazir Nashonuma Program has already enrolled 750,000 women and babies. There are already 138 BISP offices at the Tehsil level. There will also be one-window service centers.
As part of the province’s efforts to reduce poverty, Khuhro announced that poor households from Sindh who had been removed from the BISP database under the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government will be readmitted as beneficiaries following a survey.
New Kafalat Payment Of Rs13,500 Starting From 2025
Due to the increased budget for the Benazir Income Support Program this time around, President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistani government have instructed the program to raise its quarterly installment by 27%. Starting in January 2025, qualified women will receive Rs 13,500 through a new, open banking system.
Beneficiaries can obtain their 13,500 rupees from any approved ATM with biometric verification without waiting in long lines.
In conclusion
The enlargement of the BISP in Sindh is an essential move towards reducing poverty in the province. Already benefiting 2.4 million households, with plans for further expansion, the program strives to offer vital financial aid to a larger number of families. This partnership with STEVTA for vocational training and the proposed increase in Kafalat payments to Rs 13,500 showcase BISP’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of disadvantaged groups, especially women and children.
