2025 Update on 11,000 Livestock Card Disbursement

Under the program known as the “Chief Minister Punjab’s Livestock Card”, financial support is provided to boost meat and milk production in the province. As a result, over 11,000 farmers have been given livestock cards by the Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Department (L&DDD) in Punjab.

Punjab Government Approves 14,000 Applications

As per the Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, who chaired a meeting on Thursday, the department has received a total of 117,750 applications from livestock farmers for this scheme. The Bank of Punjab has approved approximately 14,000 of these requests.

At the conference, we looked into the allocation of livestock assets for widowed and divorced women in rural areas of South Punjab. Additionally, Saqib Ali Ateel, the secretary of Livestock Punjab, also participated in the discussion on the distribution of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Livestock Card.

Farmers Now Eligible for Interest-Free Loans of Rs 27,000 per Animal

During the event, the Minister praised the Punjab Chief Minister’s Livestock Card initiative for its potential to assist livestock farmers. The card will enable them to purchase essential supplies such as mineral mixes, silage, and animal feed. Additionally, the Minister mentioned that farmers can access interest-free loans up to Rs. 27,000 per animal through this program.

Livestock Card Verification for New Applicants: Ongoing Process and Updates

On December 5, the Punjab Chief Minister began distributing the livestock card, which was formally introduced on January 9 in Pakpattan by none other than Punjab’s own leader, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Currently, there are 99,000 animals registered under these cardholders, with ongoing verification for new applications.

The Minister has reported that 942 traders in Punjab have registered for the Livestock Card. Since the buying process began on December 16, these livestock farmers have collectively spent 21 crore rupees. The formation of a steering committee, chaired by the Punjab Chief Secretary, has been notified to handle various issues related to the Livestock Card and provide a 30% cash facility.

Livestock Assets Distribution for Rural Widowed and Divorced Women

To date, more than 110,000 women have submitted their applications. Out of these, around 14,500 have been transferred by the PITB to the Urban Unit for physical verification. And out of these, over 3,000 have been deemed eligible.

During the meeting, the initiative to distribute livestock assets to widowed and divorced women in rural South Punjab was also discussed. This program, led by the Punjab Chief Minister, is a significant step towards empowering impoverished women. Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani shared that in the first year, 5,000 women will be selected through a computerized lottery from the 12 districts with allocated quotas for asset distribution among rural women.

Punjab Livestock Scheme Online Registration 2025

To acquire the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card, individuals can utilize the Punjab Information Technology Board application for an online application. The loan term is limited to a maximum of 150 days (five months), with a usage duration of 120 days (four months).

The full payment of the loan is required within the upcoming 30 days, also known as one month. Cattle keepers can avail interest-free loans through the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card. The Punjabi government will cover any interest or profit expenses.
