CM Punjab Announces Launch of 100,000 E-Bikes for Youth in 2025

The Chief Minister of Punjab, along with Maryam Nawaz and the rest of the Punjab Government, has taken further action to support eco-friendly transportation and engage young individuals through the 2025 Punjab Bike Scheme. As part of this initiative, 100,000 electric bikes will be allocated to students by next year, building upon the previous efforts announced at Okara University.

During her speech, Maryam Nawaz stressed the significance of education and innovation as the largest and most comprehensive effort in the country’s history. This initiative by the government offers opportunities to mentor students and improve the quality of education.

Empowering Students: Punjab Government’s E-Bike Scheme for a Sustainable Future

Under the guidance of CM Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Government has implemented an Electric bike program in July 2024. To ensure equal opportunities for deserving students, the government is covering half of the down payment (ranging from 20,000 to 40,000) for e-bikes.

In addition to supplying 8000 female students with electric bikes as an eco-friendly initiative, a similar plan has been revealed for teachers in Punjab. This project aims to distribute electric bikes to 15 thousand teachers throughout the province, lowering their transportation expenses and enhancing their connectivity.

Future of E-Bike Charging Stations and the Evolution of Electric Vehicles

The Punjab government has introduced a program aimed at making e-services more convenient for women by installing charging stations exclusively for them. The plan involves partnering with the Bank of Punjab (BOP) to install these stations.

DC Lahore Rafia Haider has implemented a plan to provide convenient charging facilities at universities, colleges, and selected public areas in the city. This includes popular locations like Liberty Parking Plaza and Women’s Universities and Colleges.

Furthermore, the government of Punjab has also implemented strategies for promoting the use of electric vehicles and improving air quality.

To address this, a vehicle respect system has been implemented specifically for private vehicles. The initial license to produce e-loader rickshaws within the province was awarded to Nawawa Mobilizer Company.

Okara University Gets 50,000 New Scholarships, by Maryam Nawaz

At the briefing held at Okara University, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also shared crucial information regarding the Honhaar scholarship. She mentioned that this year, 30,000 students will be granted the scholarship and that the number will increase to 50,000 by next year.

In addition to clarifying that the scholarship is not a form of charity, she emphasized that it serves as recognition of the student’s merit and potential. Furthermore, she announced a new student support scheme and shared that the first shipment of laptops had already been received.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif further confirmed that the Talented Students Scholarship Program strictly adheres to meritocracy and students are not questioned about their political allegiances.
